What are your social media pet peeves?

As we scroll through our various social media profiles, it's hard not to get irritated by what other people post – or don't post. A writer for Canadian Blog House recently wrote an article about the most annoying things one might encounter on social media.

At the top of their list was Vaguebooking – i.e. when someone posts a status update that leaves you “hanging off the proverbial social media cliff”.

“I'm so excited about this new opportunity! Hard work really does pay off!”

“I can't believe this is happening to me. When are things going to go my way?”

“So this day went to total sh*t.”

Look familiar? Not only are the updates totally vague, but the person often refuses to comment on what the update is about – something the readers at Canadian Blog House find extremely irritating.

We asked our viewers what their social media pet peeves are and these are some of their responses:

  • Click-bait headlines
  • Posts that shame, judge or create drama
  • Sponsored updates from random accounts
  • The “I'm going to unfollow/unlike this page” commenters
  • Before and after work out photos
  • “Share if you have a heart” posts
  • When people use Facebook as Google
  • Endless memes
  • People who share every detail about their day
